There are numerous things that go into account when thinking about what makes good design. In fact there is almost an endless possibility. The designer could know what he or she wants or perhaps even let their imagination drift off into a world of the unknown. Although this could be risky, the end result could astonish them. This falls into experimentation which in many cases turn out to be successful. Design itself consists of many factors including composition, contrast, color, text and font use, the organization of the piece, mood, proportion, the meaning of the design and much more. To me the most important to consider are composition, color, text, proportion and the mood of the design. The mood can tell a little about the designer and their intentions of the design. It also adds to their own style which is very important when it comes to finding ones self connection with art in general. Composition and proportion go hand in hand, meaning that when you think about one you also must think of the other in order to accomplish your thoughts. If each of these are done correctly or in the way you pictured then it can really help create a professional looking design. With the wrong proportion and composition, your design could come out looking like a child created it or just plain ugly. Color is what makes art unique and exciting to look at. There is such a vast variety of colors and with the ability to mix and contrast them can make the most wonderful design. Color can make ones design cohesive and tie it together.
